About

I am Frank W. Hughes, a priest of the Episcopal Church in the USA. I have recently served as Interim Rector of two parishes in the Diocese of Texas.

I am also a New Testament scholar. I had the privilege of studying at Hendrix College, Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, the University of Chicago, Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, and Northwestern University. Most of my research and writing has been on the letters of the Pauline corpus in the New Testament and how they do rhetoric. In 1989 my first book was published, Early Christian Rhetoric and 2 Thessalonians (Journal for the Study of the New Testament Supplement Series, 30). For several years I have been working on the Corinthian correspondence, and I am now working actively on the Letter to the Colossians.

I am a member of the Anglican Association of Biblical Scholars, the Society of Biblical Literature, and Studiorum Novi Testamenti Societas.
